The Quest For Freedom
Dear Friends

At last we are free! We are free from our selfish egotistic differences.
At last we gained our souls back, we are free!
Even if the enemy is still there, even if physically we are not free, our soul and mind is!
We have no fear anymore except from our kids asking us in the future why did we compromised and sold our freedom?!
Lebanon, our beautiful country is ours, we love it so much and we were too fool in loving it that we destroyed it and at the same time we paid so dearly to do that.
No more self-destruction in the name of love, we are one country and one nation asking for peace democracy and freedom.
We have the most sincere wishes for all the nations who are struggling for the basic human rights and to gain back their freedom, but we are ready for it we are not going to wait for others to catch up with us. We believe that they also can do it.
We want to know the truth and find the criminals all the criminals!
We want to get the Syrians OUT, and we want to have a free election.
We want to separate the religion from the state and have elections based on modern parties representing different point of views and struggling peacefully to serve our beloved country.
We are uniting in the fight for freedom.
May peace be with you and with our beloved home Lebanon.

I want to say that I know that premier Hariri died knowing he was going to die. He died and he did not mind dying. He had no problem going for his country to live. He still does not mind it today. I don't claim to know where his soul is now, but I know he stayed around long enough to see the crowds and smell the perfume of freedom and liberty. I know he was given the chance to see and admire the power unleashed by his brutal assassination and I know he is proud and full with a kind of happiness and satisfaction like never before in his earthly life. Don't ask me how I know. I just do, and I know I do. You just can not make this stuff up.
There is a situation today that mandates all our efforts. There is an historic opportunity to seize before the world looks away again. There is the fate of a people and a country. I don't want to override patriotism of any fellow lebanese but we want to say it as it is. Political correctness is useful on days when the fire is in the neighbor's home may be, but when the fire reaches your living room, there is no place for correctness. There is only room for clarity in demands and clarity in thought and execution. Courage does not come easy to people. Unfortunately, Courage is most often gathered from extraordinary events happening to ordinary people.
No one is immune, everyone is on the list of execution by the "syrial killer". They started with Kamal Jumblatt, went to raymond Edde (who never visited his country again because of them), went on to many many others including Bashir Gemayel, Hassan Khaled, Rene Mouawwad...
Ahhh and don't forget the scores of innocent people in syrian prisons. The bottomline is, arab regimes count on your fear and are scared only of your courage. They love fear and know how to nurse it and grow it. They are aversive to courage because "Ma fi hbous tsa3 kull al nass". This is a real problem they face. Go on sign the petition, and if anyone asks you, tell them I want to spend some of my assigned energy in this universe in a constructive manner.
I forgot to write down my name on the previous comment,
My name is Rami and people often called me "AOUNI MITZAMMIT". It has become a good name now. Anyone who signs will gain the right to re-name me "LUBNANI MITZAMMIT".
